Looking up from the
But still as I look out over the river I want to be out kayaking - and this is only the beginning of my six month working season - I must change my mood and attitude... or else this is not going to be so pleasant summer season.
One good thing the camp is installing a fresh water pond for people to swim in - so on those real hot sticky humid days I can take a dip to get relief.
extended coffee break
Thursday, April 03, 2014
I went for a two hour coffee break this afternoon -off onto the mountain roads I drive.
I have two goals -- one is to take pictures and the other is to go geo caching..
in the stillness
I'm at work - I am working - but not like I am going to be soon. I have time to rest - I have time to wander - I have time to listen to the rain splatter like a thousand feet on the canvas tent top and to listen to the sounds of nature.
I heard it - the deep - deep whoot of an owl so near the dinning lodge - I must go out and see if I can locate it.
no luck -- however I sat down next to this old huge tree protected from the falling rain and just waited - sitting still hoping to get a sight of the owl... as I sat ever so still like a rock troll statue out of my eye a robin hops from spot to spot on the ground looking for a tasty snack. I make a slight motion - it flutters onto a fallen log and watches me for over five minutes as I watch it... During this time a little grey squirrel scurries about also not paying any attention to my prying eyes.
I must do this again - so much life is missed in my business and rushed life
but now I must return to the job at hand..

February so far
February
I have been walking around the pond watching birds.
I have gone Geo caching a couple of times with success.
I have went into the forest Goe caching / HIKE and came out of the woods far away from where I left my parked car and very close to home - so I went home and phoned a friend to drive me back to my car. I think he laughed at me - then he was surprised how far I actually walked.
Chinese New Year Parade - it a sunny cool day but Noni and I enjoyed it once again. I was a little confused -- I thought we were at least an hour or more so early - but it began within fifteen minutes of our arrival. That was good - I do not like waiting... I was happy with our location where we sat on the cold cement ledge of the road. My butt was a little cold - discomfort but not freezing I was wearing long underwear pants - wind /rain pants on my lower portion and on top I had several warm outdoor styles of clothing on - I was so cozy that I didn't even zip up these layers while everyone around me was cold... I don't like being cold so I over dressed to say the least.
Then yesterday news has made me sad and feeling sorry for my EX wife.
Reading my daughters Facebook - then talking to my daughter - I find out the man my ex left me for many years ago died yesterday. That was a strange relationship - I heard things - but they have been together at least fifteen years I think now. She has never lived on her own - I am not sure if she can even cook - she could not when she was my wife and her boyfriend/ partner was also a cook so she never went into the kitchen. I was happy for them once the shock of this adulteress relation past over the years. Now she is alone. Unfortunate she does not have good relations with our children - not much support will be given -- I just feel so sorry / sad for her lot in life - I do not see much hope - joy - well being in it. And now she is alone.

Glad I don't live in the East
Off to the estuary today with the camera and back pack with the hope of seeing some eagles and harbor seals.
I woke up this morning to a nice sky so it got me in the mood to get outside.
even though this is an older picture - I did sit and watch for a while a seal - but today I could not get a clear shot so NO new pictures
